Become a Shareholder

Sands Films is a private company with a large number of small shareholders (500). A fixed number of shares were issued to raise the capital required to purchase the property Sands Films has restored and occupied since 1975. This is a non-speculative scheme which spreads the ownership of a valuable asset amongst a large group of like-minded people. The shareholders own Sands and its assets jointly and this protects the property from being a target for developers. The company's share capital is fixed and the company is not issuing new shares – but the pool of existing shareholders needs some renewing.

All shareholders are also "subscribers" by default and therefore have 50% discount on tickets and exclusive access to recorded events.

Subscribe to Sands Films

Subscribing to Sands Films is a new idea: we are developing the subscription to bring together people who are interested in the type of work we deliver and make that work available to a wider audience. This is at an experimental stage and the project has evolved; but such as it is now, for a small monthly contribution which you can set yourself, weekly, monthly or yearly, we are offering two things to our subscribers:

- A 50% discount on all Sands Films events with a charge. (Most of our screenings are by donation, but live events often carry a charge towards costs) subscribers will have the opportunity to purchase these tickets at half price.

- Exclusive access to online video recordings of events that takes place at Sands Films. Sands Films is not a regular venue and many events are presented on very short runs. Subscribers will be able to see these events online; thus making Sands Films events available for longer and to a much larger audience.
